There is a lot of thought going on at European level about the driving licence and its future. It is now expected that the automatic code, code 78, will be abolished. This will mean that you will soon be able to take the exam in a car with an automatic gearbox and that you will then receive a driving licence for all types of cars. How this will all work exactly is not yet clear at the moment.
